Honkai Star Rail version 3.3 is currently live, and here’s a tier list with the best characters to choose for combat.
The new healer, Hyacine, has made her debut in HSR v3.3. She is a Wind element character who follows the Path of Remembrance. With her unique Healing and follow-up attack abilities, she is placed quite high on our Honkai Star Rail tier list.

S-Tier characters in Star Rail 3.3v
Characters in this tier represent the strongest playable characters. Even with minimum resource investment, you will be able to defeat your enemies effortlessly.
The reasons for these characters to be in S-Tier are as follows:
DPS – Characters like Castorice, The Herta, Aglaea, Firefly, Mydei, Jing Yuan, Feixiao, Yunli, Rappa, and Acheron are in this tier for their massive damage output with their Skill and Ultimate usage.
Apart from their skill and Ultimate usage, some, like The Herta, Firefly, and more, can deal a huge amount of damage with their Follow-up attack, meaning no skill points are used, but they can hit their foes.

Sub-DPS– Units like Tribbie(exception), Fugue, Jiaoqiu, Trailblazer (Remembrance), and Anaxa have made this list due to their unique supportive kit. Characters like Fugue, Jiaoqiu, and Anaxa are the standard Sub-DPS units as they can deal with serious elemental damage, and under certain conditions, they can set up their squad’s Main DPS so that they can deal enormous damage.
Now, Tribbie and Trailblazer (Remembrance) are an exception as Sub-DPS units. Tribbie has a unique kit among all the Path of Harmony characters; she is the only one who launches follow-up attacks and deals huge Quantum damage to her enemies when an ally successfully hits their target. With such a kit, she is currently one of the best playable Sub-DPS/ Buffer in-game.
The newly introduced Path of Remembrance in the 3.0 version has the potential to make other Paths kind of impractical. This Path has the potential to let the followers choose their role with the help of their Memosprite(exclusive to the Path). Previously, the role of a character was dependent on the Path they were following.
For example, Firefly, a Destruction Path unit (can deal damage to adjacent targets), was able to deal Fire damage not just to a single target; even the adjacent targets were inflicted with Fire damage.
However, in the case of Castorice, who is following the newly introduced Path, with the help of her Memosprite, she can deal enormous Quantum damage to all the enemies that are present on the field.
Similarly, Trailblazer (Remembrance) can deal huge Ice damage with the help of her Memosprite, Mem, and can fast forward an ally’s action by 100%, which was traditionally done by Harmony characters only.
Support (Buffer/De-buffer) – Ruan Mei, Robin, and Sunday are your traditional support units, they can buff their allies’ damage output, Speed, and more. These support units need fewer investments in terms of resources, and they can be paired with almost any DPS that is playable in Honkai Star Rail.
Sustain/Healers– Characters like Lingsha, Gallagher, Aventurine, Fu Xuan, Hyacine, and Huohuo are the reason why your team manages to stay alive even when they are facing the strongest of world bosses in the game.
Lingsha, Gallagher, Hyacine, and Huohuo not only heal their allies, but when needed with their abilities, they can deal damage like Hyacine, Gallagher, and Lingsha, while Huohuo, with her ultimate, makes sure her team stays alive with constant heals and a one-time energy generation for her allies.
On the other side, Fu Xuan and Aventurine are the only two S-Tier Shield units in-game. Among these two, Fu Xuan can let her allies distribute about 65% of the incoming damage to her, while the latter has the unique skill of a stackable shield, which means your allies are not gonna take a single hit if you can build Aventurine properly.
Even with minimum investment, you can clear end-game content like MoC, Pure Fiction, and more with the above-mentioned units.
A-Tier characters in Honkai Star Rail 3.3v

Characters in this tier are strong and dependable units, and with the right support units, they can defeat even the most challenging opponents.
The reason for these characters to be in A-Tier is as follows:
DPS– Units like Topaz, Jingliu, Dan Heng (Imbibitor Lunae), Dr.Ratio, Moze, Kafka, Argenti, Boothill, and Seele are the characters who have been impacted by the constant meta changes and power creep. Still, with a proper team and resource investment, these units can work wonders against the top world bosses.
Sub-DPS – Himeko, March 7th (The Hunt), Jade, and Black Sawn are the well-known Sub-DPS in the current meta for their follow-up ATKs and DoT application. With a balanced team, these above-mentioned units can still shine on the field.
Support (Buffer/De-buffer) – Characters of the Harmony Path are strong support units. In this tier, Pela, Sparkle, Tingyun, Silverwolf, and Bronya are your best options for buffer and de-buffer.
Tingyun, Sparkle, and Bronya are your standard buffers who can boost your ATK output, Crit damage, speed buff, and energy regeneration for their ally’s Ultimate. While Pela and Silverwolf follow the Path of Nihility, they apply DoT and weakness to their enemies, making them weak to the incoming damage.
Sustain/Healers – Luocha and Clara are the only healers and sustain units in this tier. Luocha is a party-wide healer, and with his Ultimate, he can even deal a decent amount of Imaginary damage. While Clara is a Destruction Unit, her kit is based on sustain. She will attack once she or her allies get attacked. She can even tank the incoming damage, making her an exception as a Sustain unit.
With decent team comps, these characters can clear the end-game content with ease.
B-Tier characters in Honkai Star Rail 3.3v

Characters in this tier need heavy investment and a kit-specific team so that they can put out a respectable damage output.
The reason for these characters to be in B-Tier is as follows:
DPS – Blade, Xueyi, and Qingque are your B-Tier DPS units, and with heavy resource investment, these characters might be able to compete against some of the A-tier units in terms of damage output.
Sub-DPS – Guinaifen and Sampo are the ideal choices for Sub-DPS from this tier. Both of these units follow the Path of Nihility, so they will be able to apply DoT(Damage over Time) and the ideal way to inflict damage without using your skill points.
Support(Buffer/De-buffer) – No Units.
Sustain/Healers – Gepard, Bailu, and Lynx are your options to make sure your other teammates stay alive during boss fights. Gepard is one of the early introduced units, so his kit is quite simple. He can apply a shield on his allies with his Ultimate, and it is not stackable like Aventurine.
While Bailu and Lynx are your healers, they will make sure your teammate survives. Bailu will also resurrect one of your allies if needed, but this skill is limited to one time per battle.
These characters need kit-specific teammates to put on a strong show on the battlefield.
C-Tier characters in Star Rail 3.3v

Characters in these two tiers need the most resource investment. Even after that, these characters fail to put off a decent fight on the field.
The reasons for these characters to be in C-Tier are as follows:
DPS – Serval and Sushang are your free-to-play DPS options. Both of these units need a heavy investment to make them perform well on the field. Along with resource investment, they need a balanced team that synergizes well with them.
Sub-DPS – Welt, Herta, and Luke are the viable Sub-DPS options that you can use in your team. Although it is recommended to avoid them as they won’t be able to keep up with the current world bosses.
Support(Buffer/De-buffer) – Hanya is a Physical element unit. She was introduced in the game during the Xianzhou Luofu arc, and she is a decent ATK and Speed buffer, but needs a strong investment.
Sustain/Healers– Trailblazer (Preservation) is the only sustain unit in this tier, and it is recommended to avoid him.
D-Tier characters in Honkai Star Rail 3.3v

These characters are decent in the early stage of the game, but do avoid them once you progress in the story. These units won’t be able to deliver a satisfying performance even if you invest heavily.
The reasons for these characters to be in D-Tier are as follows:
DPS – Hook, Dan Heng, Misha, Arlan, Trailblazer (Destruction), and Yanqing are the available DPS units in this tier, but it is highly recommended to avoid these units once you unlock or pull for a better option.
Sub-Dps – No Units.
Support (Buffer/De-buffer) – Yukong is the only ATK buffer in this tier. She performs decently in the early stage of the game.
Sustain/Healers– March 7th, and Natasha are your Shield and healing units in this tier. Both are F2P characters, and you can unlock them in the early stages of the game.
It is recommended not to use these characters in your end-game content because these units struggle miserably, and with half the investment in S-Tier or A-Tier characters, you can breeze past most of the end-game content.
