Epic Games has taken the servers offline to roll out the highly anticipated Fortnite Star Wars update, officially titled Galactic Battle, and it will be the v35.00 update.
This special season is a dream come true for Star Wars enthusiasts, packed with themed locations, iconic weapons, and legendary characters. But the big question on everyone’s mind is: When will the servers be back up?
Current Fortnite server status and expected downtime
Maintenance began early on May 2 at:
- 2 am ET
- 1 am CT
- 11 pm PT (May 1)
Historically, major updates like this take 4 to 6 hours to complete. If all goes smoothly, servers could return by:
- 6 am ET / 4 am CT / 3 am PT (if maintenance is short)
- 8 am ET / 6 am CT / 5 am PT (if extended)

What’s new in the Galactic update v35.00?
Once the Fortnite Galactic update v35.00 servers are back online, you can check the Galactic Battle season, introducing a brand-new themed map, featuring iconic locations straight from the Star Wars universe. This includes the First Order Base, Outpost Enclave, and Resistance Base.
One of the biggest highlights is the arrival of Lightsabers, giving you enhanced mobility with faster sprints, higher jumps, and intense melee combat.
The update also brings a fresh arsenal of weapons, such as the DL-44 Blaster Pistol, CR-2 Blaster, and ACP Scatter Blaster, along with exclusive rewards like Captain Phasma’s F-11D Blaster and her Blaster Medallion.
For those who love aerial combat, the Imperial TIE Fighter is also available as a single-passenger vehicle.
Starting May 8, legendary characters like Luke Skywalker, Leia Organa, and Han Solo will join the battle.
Plus, an all-new Star Wars Battle Pass offers exclusive skins, emotes, and other galactic rewards are also a part of the update.
