All changes made in the CS2 July 29 update
Animation changes
The first major thing in the July 29 CS2 update is that the animation framework has been upgraded to AnimGraph2, which requires reauthoring the existing game content.
This change replaces all first-person animations, starting from weapon deployment to firing and reloading. Moreover, the devs have also changed how the chickens animate.

Gameplay changes
Coming to gameplay changes, the damage prediction while shooting during movements has been improved.
Moreover, the reloads will no longer resume automatically during any interruption. You’ll no longer get stuck on different geometries while surfing on maps.
Audio changes
A small case where individual player volumes weren’t working correctly has been fixed. Thanks to the new AnimGraph2 framework, you can witness brand new reload and draw sounds in conjunction.
New speed-sensitive sounds can be played while surfing. Here’s a list of commands through which those sounds can be turned on, adjusted, or off:
- sv_surf_sounds
- snd_surf_volume_inair
- snd_surf_volume_map
- snd_surf_volume_slide
Lastly, there are various improvements to ambient sound content, especially for the community map makers. It’s surely a good thing and might be a sign for devs welcoming community maps in-game.
Miscellaneous changes
You can now open the Community Server Browser in the Steam Overlay while using the full-screen exclusive mode.
