Full Cipher build guide in Honkai Star Rail

A proper Cipher build in Honkai Star Rail will be able to bring back a lot of characters in the meta who have been long forgotten. Cipher(Cifera – the real name) is the Chrysos Heir of the “Trickery” Coreflame, who is gonna be a playable unit very soon.

She is a Quantum element character who is following the Path of Nihility. Per the official post, she will be a de-buffer who can act as a sub-DPS in her team comps.

In the following part, we will break down her abilities, ascension materials, relic builds, and more.

Cipher abilities in Honkai Star Rail

The official abilities of Cipher, the Chyrsos Heir of the “Trickery” Coreflame, are mentioned below:

Basic Attack (Oops, a Missed Catch)

With her Basic Attack, she will be dealing Quantum DMG to a single foe.

Skill (Hey, Jackpot for the Taking)

When she uses her skill, Cipher will have a certain chance to weaken one selected foe and its adjacent targets. This will also decrease their damage output while increasing Cipher’s ATK values, which will last a certain number of turns.

Other than these debuffs, she will be inflicting Quantum DMG on one designated enemy and its adjacent targets.

Ultimate (Yours Truly, Kitty Phantom Thief!)

When she uses her Ultimate, Cipher will be able to deal Quantum DMG to a selected enemy. After that, she will again deal True DMG that will be equal to a specific proportion of the recorded Talent value to a selected enemy.

This True DMG is distributed equally among all the targets.

Talent (The Hospitable Dolosian)

When there are no available enemy targets with the “Patron” state on the field, she immediately brings one enemy who has the highest Max HP on the battlefield to become the “Patron“.

When Cipher uses her Skill and Ultimate, the primary target will be the enemy who has the “Patron” state. After the ally team members have attacked the “Patron”, Cipher immediately launches a follow-up attack on the “Patron,” dealing a decent amount of Quantum DMG.

This follow-up attack will be triggered once per turn. Her talent will also allow Cipher to store a certain proportion of the non-True DMG that is dealt by the ally units on the “Patron”, while the Overflow DMG will not be recorded. This stored value will be cleared once the Ultimate ability is used by Cipher.

Technique (Puss in Boots)

With her technique, Cipher gains ” Zagreus’s Blessing,” which lasts for a few seconds, but during this period, Cipher will be able to stay undetectable by her enemies, and her movement speed will be buffed.

When Cipher approaches an enemy in the Simulated Universe or Divergent Universe, or overworld, she will immediately gain a random Consumable. On entering fights while “Zagreus’s Blessing” is active, it will lead to dealing Quantum DMG to all the present enemies.

The above-mentioned abilities are Cipher’s official skill set that you can use wisely to gain the upper hand on the battlefield.

LightCone options for Cipher in HSR version 3.3

Some of the best LightCone options for Cipher’s build are as follows:

4) Good Night and Sleep Well – This LightCone will help Cipher deal more Quantum DMG when the enemy has one to three debuffs implanted on them.

3) Boundless Choreo – This LightCone will provide Crit Rate, and deals more Crit DMG to enemies who are slowed or whose DRF has been reduced. This LC is ideal for debuffers.

2) Resolution Shines As Pearls of Sweat – This LC is the best 4-star option for Cipher, both as Sub-DPS and De-buffer builds. Although this LC doesn’t help much with Cipher’s abilities, it benefits the Main DPS.

1) Lies Dance on the Breeze – This is the signature LightCone for Ciphers, custom-made for her abilities. This LC provides her with an SPD stat buff and DEF shred that can be repeatedly inflicted.

Now that is all you need to know to build your Cipher in Honkai Star Rail efficiently when she comes out on the character banner. While you wait for her banner to come, how about you check out Cipher’s Best team comps for 3.3v?
